THE LOST WARHOLS

The Lost Warhols are a revelation, a legendary series of photographs of Andy Warhol, captured and almost forgotten, then unearthed and reborn for a new generation. Discovered by artist and photographer Karen Bystedt, these works capture Warhol in rare, candid moments,providing new texture and depth to the cultural mythos of one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Brought back into the contemporary spotlight through BLVKBOOK’s partnership and Karen’s vision, The Lost Warhols stand not just as photographs, but as a story of rediscovery, collaboration, and unfiltered creative energy.

Timeline: The Discovery of The Lost Warhols

1982:
Karen Bystedt, a young photographer, secures a rare portrait session with Andy Warhol in his legendary Factory studio. The resulting photographs | intimate, powerful, and honest |join Karen’s personal archive.

For Decades:
The negatives sit quietly—hidden, unshown, and nearly forgotten, as art history continues to celebrate Warhol worldwide.

2007:
Karen rediscovers her archived negatives. Realizing their cultural impact, she begins printing, exhibiting, and sharing these unseen glimpses of Warhol with the world.

2010s:
The Lost Warhols explode onto the global scene,featured in galleries, magazine spreads, and high-profile collaborations. Artists, musicians, and celebrities reinterpret the images, connecting past and present.

2020s & Beyond:
BLVKBOOK connects with Karen Bystedt, weaving The Lost Warhols into its contemporary curation. The journey comes full circle: Warhol’s lost moments become a bridge between eras, art lovers, and new creative voices.
