Jason Perez:
Art should not be confined to gallery walls ,it should live with us. I believe art plays a vital role in shaping how we feel, think, and experience our everyday environments. Whether it’s in homes, hotels, restaurants, or public spaces, art has the power to inspire conversation and create emotional connections.
One of my core strategies is bringing art into unexpected spaces. I curate exhibitions in lifestyle environments, collaborate with hospitality brands, and create immersive experiences where music, live art, and community intersect. As both a curator and DJ, I’m particularly passionate about blending sound and visual art to create memorable moments. When selecting artists for the Jason Perez Art Collective, I look beyond just talent. I’m drawn to artists who have a strong voice, consistency in their work, and a genuine passion for their craft. Authenticity is everything. I also look for artists who are open to growth, collaboration, and building relationships.
In today’s art market, artists need more than technical ability , they need storytelling, professionalism, and a willingness to engage with collectors. The most successful artists understand that their work is part of a larger conversation. One memorable project that reflects my experience-driven approach was curating a multi-artist exhibition that combined live DJ sets, live painting, and collector-focused walkthroughs. The goal was to break away from traditional exhibition formats and create an environment where people felt comfortable engaging with the art.
The result was incredible. Collectors spent more time with the work, artists had the opportunity to share their stories in real time, and the energy in the room created meaningful connections. Several artists gained new collectors, and many attendees walked away with a deeper appreciation for the creative process. There’s a boldness in Miami , artists aren’t afraid to experiment, and collectors are open to discovering new voices.
I see Miami continuing to influence contemporary art globally. With the growth of art fairs, galleries, and independent collectives, Miami has become a hub for innovation and creativity. The scene is evolving beyond seasonal events and becoming a year-round destination for collectors and artists alike.
